Summer INTENSIVE OVERVIEW

Our Summer Intensive is a five-day dance experience offering a wide variety of classes, including Musical Theatre Jazz, Contemporary, Pointe, Ballet Variations, and Gratitude Performing Arts repertoire.

Overview of the Week

Students will arrive on Sunday and attend classes Monday through Friday. In addition to daily dance training, students will take part in Bible study, counselor-led small groups, and other fun activities designed to build community, faith, and lasting friendships.

Rather than ending with a traditional stage performance, students will participate in a meaningful outreach opportunity. The intensive will conclude Friday evening with a performance in downtown Bowling Green as part of the Firefly Nights festival. This allows students not only to gain performance experience, but also to use their dancing as a way to serve the community and share Christ through the arts.

Placement

Students ages 14 and up will be asked to submit an informal dance video at the time of registration so placement can be determined prior to the start of the intensive. Students 14 and under will be placed after a placement class on Monday.

Each track is thoughtfully tailored to the skills and capacity of each dancer, ensuring that every student is both appropriately challenged and supported to succeed where they are placed.

For our older dancers—those with more experience—this week is designed to refresh and refine the skills you have spent years developing. You will be challenged but also renewed, learning to rest in the gifts and abilities you already have. This is a chance to fully enjoy the week, using classes not only to grow as dancers, but also for joy, worship, and meaningful connection with other dancers in similar walks of life. Through this balance of challenge, rest, and community, you can deepen your artistry and embrace the identity God has given you—both as a dancer and as the person He created you to be.

This group is designed for dancers who are currently training, have danced in the past, are  in-between programs, or even those who are teaching. If you have a background in dance and a heart to grow, we would love for you to join us.

HOUSING,transportaion & Supervision Policy

Please note that the program does not provide housing or guaranteed transportation.

  • Students ages 12–15 must be accompanied by a chaperone for the duration of the intensive. The chaperone is fully responsible for the student’s housing, transportation, and supervision outside of studio hours. The chaperone will be connected with the student’s assigned counselor for questions and communication while at the studio.

  • Students ages 16–19 are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation. While housing is not provided, the program will assist by connecting participants with fellow attendees and sharing information about local accommodations  (such as nearby Airbnbs). These students will be assigned a counselor for check-in communication related to studio arrival and departure. This age will also need to have prior approval from a parent and their counselor for any outings ie: Grocery stores, coffee shops etc...that are outside of the studio.

  • Students ages 20–24 are considered independent adult participants and are responsible for their own housing, transportation, and personal arrangements. The program does not provide supervision, housing, or transportation, but will assist with housing recommendations.

  • All Local Students are expected to stay in contact with their counselor for the week but ultimately will remain under their parents responsibility outside of studio time.
